anyone else digging these at the moment?
I’ve got that itch at the moment to get a new build on the go, but I’m happy with my track bike and only just finished my road bike so wasn’t sure what to do. I started thinking about an awesome Kona Cinder Cone that I used to do a lot of trail riding on as a teenager and this sparked off an idea. I’m going to build up one of the classic early 90s mountain bikes – these things were rad – I’m not a huge fan of how modern mountain bikes look but there seemed to be a golden age in the late 80s and early 90s when the styling was spot on – if you’re not convinced check out the below:

You may not all agree with me but I love all the old school turquoises, purples and bright pinks – and before suspension was really being used they all had clean, simple lines.
For me it has to be Kona, I love their bikes and the heritage of the brand, so now the hunt begins for a mid 90s Kona frame, preferably Cinder Cone, and we’ll see where it goes from there.
