Brother in the Wild – Berlin 2019 | Event Report and Photo Journal
In August 2019 we held the first Brother in the Wild Berlin – in collaboration with the good guys at The Gentle Jaunt – Berlin’s bikepacking & cycle touring specialists.
Over 70 riders joined us for 2 days exploring the gravel tracks and trails that weave their way through the forests surrounding the city. The route was expertly curated by the guys at The Gentle Jaunt – challenging but not so hard that we couldn’t enjoy ourselves – riders made regular stops to chill out, have a beer and swim in the lakes that we passed along the way.
On Saturday evening riders setup camp at a remote forest house on the banks of the river Spree. Everyone enjoyed a cooling swim before having a well earned drink and eating a BBQ dinner around the campfire. Some collapsed into their tents exhausted from the day, whilst others stayed up late, recalling stories from the trail under a starlit sky.
Thank you everyone who joined us for the event and all those that helped organise what was a very special weekend! Brother in the Wild will return to Berlin in 2020 so keep your eyes peeled for more information – for now enjoy these photos from the talented Robert Krugal – @hagbardcel
