Shooting the New Stroma at Night
To support the launch of the new Stroma we wanted to do something a little bit different around the lifestyle photoshoot – something which reflects the Stroma’s ethos as a tough all-road bike, not afraid to leave the tarmac on rides which go way beyond our limited daylight hours in the winter.
As such, we headed into the woods surrounding Brother HQ, in the pitch black of night, for an ambitious photoshoot in the dark. With talented photographer Ollie Harrop, we constructed a lighting rig using scaffolding poles and portable battery packs across one of our local trails as bemused dog walkers walked by with worried looks on their faces. Lights flashed in the dark and all you could hear were owls hooting and the occasional ‘ooooh… yeaaaah… that looks nice’ as two bike geeks perved at the resulting images. We’re pretty happy with how they turned out.
Since the launch of the Stroma, we’ve seen it being used for a whole lot more than just winter road cycling; our customers have used them for everything from light bikepacking to gravel riding and ultra endurance events. As such, we wanted to show it some love in 2025 by making some subtle changes and giving it this bold new look – geometric paint cut lines and an all new Brother Cycles logo in fluoro pink.
We built this demo bike to reflect how we see some of our customers using the Stroma, an all-road bike with a nod to more endurance/adventure based cycling – wide bars, a gravel groupset and tyres with some serious tread.
