This summer, as has become tradition, we’re heading back to Germany for one of our favourite events of the year – Brother in the Wild Munich. A gravel-grinding, adventure-seeking, bikepacking weekend in collaboration with the good folk at Guten Biken.

New for 2026: For this year’s event we’ve been busy scouting entirely new routes, diving deeper into the Bavarian landscape to uncover even better riding. Expect more gravel, more off-road and more adventure as we explore new areas and stitch together routes that lean hard into the kind of riding Brother in the Wild does best.

The event remains a two-day ride and campout, based at our private Brother in the Wild basecamp around 30km south of Munich – easily accessible by train or bike, with no cars allowed on site! Saturday’s riding heads deep into the Bavarian countryside on a network of gravel roads, forest tracks and off-road trails, with routes designed to show you lucky lot the very best this region has to offer.

The main Saturday route will be approximately 80km, with a longer option available for riders looking for a bigger challenge, and a more relaxed option for those wanting a steadier day with time to swim, stop and soak it all in.

As always, the routes pass a selection of restaurants and traditional Bavarian beer houses for refueling along the way. And, of course, it wouldn’t be a Brother in the Wild without the chance to cool off with a swim in a lake or river mid-ride.

Saturday finishes back at basecamp, where the group will spend a relaxed evening camping under the stars. Over the weekend we’ll provide:

– A bar serving soft drinks and beer (not included in ticket price)
– Freshly cooked dinners on Friday and Saturday night
– Campfires and good vibes late into the evening
– Continental-style buffet breakfasts
– Plenty of coffee to get you moving each morning

A note on the campsite: the site is beautiful but simple. Drinking water and toilets are available, but there are no showers. Instead, guests can take a refreshing dip in the River Loisach, which flows alongside the campsite. This is a proper bikepacking experience.

On Sunday, participants will pack up camp, load their bikes and head out on a scenic network of cycle paths and river trails that wind back towards Munich. The final day showcases rolling Bavarian landscapes, riverside swim spots and relaxed café stops before finishing at the Guten Biken shop.

Back at Guten Biken, guests are welcome to hang out, clean bikes and enjoy one final ice-cold beer to round off the weekend.

Optional group ride to basecamp – Friday @ 4pm
Anyone wishing to ride to the campsite as part of a group can meet at Guten Biken on Friday afternoon. We’ll provide a direct 35km route, and it’s a good opportunity to pick up any last-minute spares at the shop before heading into the wild.
