Some of you might have spotted this character - white beard, big smile - modelling our new Good Times merch and thought… who the hell is this guy?!

Well, his name’s Noel, and @dear_susan_ and I bumped into him while wandering around Margate, feeling pretty uninspired about shooting our new caps and tees. He instantly offered to model for us - and the photos turned out miles better than anything we’d tried before.

Funny how things work out sometimes. He refused any payment, so we hung out and drank cider instead. Cheers, Noel

One of our favourite things about Brother in the Wild Dorset is the bikes! From beautiful hand-built frames to scrappy retro MTB conversions, our guests always turn up with something special. BITW is the perfect place to show them off.

This year, with support from our pals at @wizard.works we ran our first ever 'Best in Show' - a chance for riders to display their pride and joy and for everyone else to geek out and vote for their favourite.

Over 30 bikes made it into the line-up, pulling in a big crowd and plenty of admiration. It was a total highlight of the weekend, and we’ll definitely be doing it again next year.

With our event season (and summer 😞) well and truly behind us, we want to say a HUGE thank you to our longstanding event partners @schwalbetyresuk !

They've not only been on site helping out guests with their tubeless and tyre emergencies but also providing amazing prizes for our charity raffle, kit for competitions, spares for our woodland pit stops and also tyres for the Brother demo bikes - including our electric, small wheel zombie apocalypse build!!!

This year’s Big ’Un almost didn’t happen! I usually like to switch things up - whether that’s tweaking the route or adding a new secret pit stop in the woods. But this year, I just didn’t have the time. My conclusion? If I couldn’t give it that extra attention, maybe it shouldn’t run at all.

I’m so glad I listened to everyone who said, “WHAT!? Don't be a d*ck. Just run it as it is" It turned out to be a fantastic weekend, and hearing all the glowing feedback reminded me just how special this event really is.

The Big ’Un has a wonderfully home-grown feel and attracts an amazing crowd - many of whom have been coming for years. It would have been such a shame to break that tradition.
