Up until now most builds we’ve seen using our 29er ‘Big Bro’ frame have been with off-road riding and bikepacking in mind. However we’re loving this slightly different take on the Big Bro from the guys at Keep Pedalling in Manchester.
This bike has been built up for Fran who plans on riding from Holland to Japan. Along her (very long!) journey she’ll encounter a whole variety of terrain from smooth tarmac to rough gravel. As such she’ll need a bike that can handle whatever’s thrown at it – and also be able to carry a serious amount of kit.
As such it’s been built up with 700c wheels and Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tour tyres which can handle a whole variety of road conditions. Front and rear pannier racks will allow her to carry all the kit she’ll require and a classic Brooks saddle with those Jones H-Bars will keep her comfortable during long days in the saddle.
This stem cap usb charger connected to the Dynamo front hub is a nice finishing touch for charging on the go. Good luck on your journey Fran!
