Mr Wooden – Prototype Build Film

Earlier this year we paid a visit to our friends at The Woods Cyclery in the New Forest with our new prototype frame – Mr Wooden. Here’s a fun little film we made building up the bike and taking it for a spin…

What is Mr Wooden? Well, it was born from the idea of bringing back a rim brake version of our Kepler frame. Ever since the Kepler went disc brake we’ve always had regular requests to offer a rim brake version alongside this. And over the past 2 years especially, these requests have increased.

With time to think about it, and after numerous conversations with Tom from the Woods Cyclery, we saw it as an opportunity to create an entirely new product. And so, Mr Wooden was born – a 650b specific, low/mid-trail, steel-tubed rim brake frame, designed to run high volume tyres and suited to riding a variety of road surfaces from tarmac to light gravel.

The skinny steel tubing makes Mr Wooden light and zippy on the tarmac and surprisingly capable when you venture offroad. It’s a modern take on the classic randonneur. So, load it up for some light touring or keep it stripped back for an extremely capable allroad bike that feels as good as it looks!

– 4130 double-butted Cr-Mo tubing
– 650b up to 48mm tyre clearance
– Flat crown, low/mid trail fork
– Quick release dropouts
– Fender/rack mounts and 3 x sets bottle bosses

Mr. Wooden will be available to pre-order later this year – the first batch will arrive with us in the spring of 2023.

Huge thanks to James Robert Sharp for making the film!
