Brother in the Wild – Munich 2024 | Tickets On Sale!

Location: Munich, Germany
Start: 9am Saturday 22nd June 2024
Finish: Approx. 5pm Sunday 23rd June 2024
Launch Party: 6pm Friday 21st June 2024 @ Guten Biken, Munich

This summer we’re heading back to the beautiful city of Munich for one of our favourite events of the year – Brother in the Wild Germany! A gravel grinding, adventure seeking, bikepacking weekend in collaboration with the good folk at Guten Biken.

Have you joined us at this event before? Well, this year you can expect an entirely new experience as we’re using a new wild camp spot for the Saturday night and new routes for both Saturday and Sunday – it’s going to be a good one!

The event will be a 2 day ride and campout starting and finishing at the Guten Biken shop in Munich’s historic city centre. On the first day participants will head south on a network of paths and trails that lead out of the city. Guests have a choice of 45km, 70km and 110km route options – all of which provide a great variety of gravel roads, forest tracks and quiet byways winding their way through scenic upper Bavaria – topped with a stunning mountain backdrop as you start to approach the Alps.

Along the route you will pass a number of shops and restaurants to stop for food and drinks. And, of course, it wouldn’t be a Brother in the Wild without the opportunity to cool off with a swim in a beautiful lake or the river along the way.

New for 2024 – a highlight of this year’s route is a stop at the Holy Mountain of Bavaria! The ancient Monastery of Andechs sits on top of a hill, is surrounded by a network of trails and has (of course) its own brewery and beer garden. We had to include it! Those who tackle the Extraterrestrial Route on Saturday can also catch a glimpse of space exploration right in front the Alps.

The ride will finish at our all new private wilderness basecamp where the group will set up camp for a night under the stars. We will provide the following in camp:

– A bar serving soft drinks and beer
– A food truck serving fresh cooked pizza and pasta (exact menu tbc)
– Campfires and good vibes until late into the night
– Buffet continental style breakfast Sunday morning
– Plenty of coffee thanks to our partners Rab Equipment

Please note: this campsite is beautiful but basic – we have drinking water and toilets available, however, there are no showers, but guests can take a dip in the River Loisach which flows just by the campsite. This is an authentic bikepacking experience!

On the second day participants will embark on another stunning ride – again there are short, medium and long options available. All routes will include fantastic gravel trails, single-track, rivers, lakes, and even ostriches (on the medium route) and of course some Bavarian beer houses before eventually taking riders back into the heart of Munich.

On both days there are also options to lengthen or shorten your ride by switching from one route to another. Exact details of where to do this will be included in your documents, sent out in the build up to the event.
